Tech Tools

Tech tools can be used to....

  • Assess - assessment of students’ learning for students or teacher

  • Practice - practicing for fluency

  • Present- presentation of new content/ideas, to demonstrate or explain a concept

  • Review - revisit concepts or resurface ideas

  • Explore - exploring/investigating mathematical ideas

  • Apply - applying mathematics to problems and situations

  • Create - creating something using or demonstrating learned skills or concepts

Tech tools are online applets, interactive sites or software that can be used by both teachers and students. On this site you will find a variety of tech tools that will support the 3rd – 5th grade Common Core State Standards for Number and Operation- Fractions. Each tech tool has been evaluated by educators to help teachers determine how it can supplement their instruction. These evaluations include a description of the tech tool- the learning activity types, what is being learned, how the math is represented, what role technology plays and what prior knowledge students and teachers need to use the tech tool. It also cautions teachers of any technical or cost considerations.
